An Approach to Increase the Maximal Sample Frequency of Lattice Wave Digital Filters Based on Circulators and Richards’ Structures

This paper introduces an approach to increase the maximal sample frequency of lattice wave digital filters based on circulators and Richards’ structures. In this approach the allpass branches of the filters make use of cascaded first-order and constrained third-order Richards’ allpass sections. Compared with the case in which regular firstand second-order Richards’ allpass sections are used, the maximal sample frequency is here two times higher. This is generally paid for by a somewhat higher computational complexity.
